A Change in the Initial Plan

In the initial plan I had said that I will be doing the kids hair and make-up. Although when going through a GANT kid’s catalogue I noticed that it was very natural. There was no make-up without being the basic, such as foundation for example. There was no specific hairstyle either. Therefore I have decided that I will not be focusing much on the hair and make up. The reason I have also decided this is because I want it to seem real and natural. Reality is that most kids from ages 3 to 11 do not use make up yet. I had not thought of this when I first stated that I would  be doing hair and make up but now I have decided that I will slightly change my initial plan. 

The Next Step

The next step is to contact all the parents and confirm for Wednesday. Find a convenient time for hotel, the models, and myself and of course the parents. I will also have to go to the store and get all the clothing that I will need for the photo-shoot. I will be getting the clothing from the store on Tuesday afternoon.

The two that have not given the permissions slips back are the two youngest. I have contacted the parents to know whether they have not given it back because they do not want their son/daughter to model or whether it is just being handed in late. Both have agreed to allow their child to model. Adriana’s brother will be giving me the permission slip soon and I will be collecting Ali Khan’s permission slip on Tuesday when I meet up with my uncle, his father. 

General Update & Progress

I had planned for the photo-shoot to be this Saturday although when I contacted Sandra to see if it suited the hotel, the answer was no. The hotel was full and there were many people at the pool and she thought it was best not to have the photo-shoot then. Therefore I contacted the parents and asked if Wednesday November 21 will work for them. I decided this day because the Thanksgiving break is on Thursday so if I did it on that Thursday many people would not be here. So I decided to do it sometime in the after noon on Wednesday. I have contacted majority of the parents and all of them have agreed so far. I will be contacting the rest today and hopefully it will work. For the ones that it does not work for I will be having a make-up day whenever it suites them so that they are still part of my catalogue.

Today I have decided that instead of sending out an email to the parents I will be approaching them in a different way. I have printed the letter that I wrote and I have also printed out the permission slips. I will be handing the letter to the parents personally. For the younger kids I will be handing it to an adult in charge, whether it is the nanny or the mother. For the kids whom are a little older I will be handing it to them personally hoping that they will give it to the parents. Somehow I have a form of contact with all the parents, whether they are my parents friends or my mom’s students parents. Therefore I am able to confirm that they have received the letter. I am hoping to get all the letters home today so that I can get them back by this Thursday or Friday.

Having permission to use the Holiday-Inn premises is one step closer to creating my final product. On Thursday or Friday I am planning to call Sandra to plan with her. The reason why I will be waiting that long is because that is the day I will be getting the permission slips back and in need to talk to the parents to find a convenient time that suites all involved.
